Seven years ago, we created FELTILES for family programming at the Chicago Architecture Biennial—simple felt tiles for exploring ideas about architecture, art, and patterning on flat surfaces. But the moment people picked them up, they started building upward. 2D became 3D. Patterns became structures. That’s when we knew we’d made something special.
