Dedicated to the Proposition | Abraham Lincoln exhibit open on May 18 2026 at Radmacher Gallery

Dedicated to the Proposition: Abraham Lincoln, is my solo exhibition on view May 18 through August 31, 2026 at the Radmacher Gallery in Skokie Public Library.

Much of the work is inspired by a little-known fact about Lincoln; that he studied Euclid’s Elements, the foundational text of geometry, and used its structure of propositions and proofs to shape his thinking and writing. I translate that idea into visual form through layered lithographs that combine historical imagery, text, and materials.

Printed in sections and reassembled, the works feature visible seams that create a “window-pane” effect, a reflection of the way that history itself is constructed, examined, and reconsidered. These prints are not photographic representations. They are imperfect constructions and an honest form for thinking about how we understand history today.

Working in lithography, a widely used medium during Lincoln’s lifetime, I connect 19th-century print culture with contemporary questions about logic, truth, and Lincoln’s legacy, inviting viewers to consider how Lincoln’s ideas and his reasoning continue to resonate in the present moment.

Opening Reception: Thursday, May 28, 5:00–8:30 PM (free and open to the public)
Exhibition Dates: May 18 – August 31, 2026
